Tarifa is located on the southern most point of Spain near the Strait of Gibraltar.
Tarifa does not have an airport but you can still visit this sports paradise by flying to one of the nearby airports; Gibraltar (Nearest), Malaga or Jerez de la Frontera.

Gibraltar airport (GIB or LXGB) is 45 km from Tarifa. The best way to get to Tarifa from Gibraltar airport is to walk across the border to La Linea and take the bus to Tarifa. The bus from La Linea to Tarifa leaves four times a day. The bus from Tarifa to La Linea leaves also four times a day. A single ticket costs around 4 euros per person. Always check the timetables before you take the bus because they change regularly.

Malaga airport (AGP) also known as Malaga Costa de Sol airport, is 10 km away from the centre of Malaga. Malaga airport has three terminals. In front of terminal 3 you will find the bus to Malaga city centre or to Malaga bus station (Maria Zambrano train station or Estacion De Autobuses).

To travel from Malaga airport to Tarifa will take about 3 to 4 hours by bus.

Jerez de la Fronterra airport (XRY) or La Parra airport is 11 km away from the centre of Jerez de la Fronterra. From the airport you can take a taxi to the centre. In Jerez there is a bus station.
Once a day the bus leaves to Tarifa. The bus from Tarifa to Jerez leaves at around 12.30. A single ticket is around 10 euros per person.

There are many possibilities to travel from Gibraltar, Malaga or Jerez De La Frontera to Tarifa. One of the easiest ways is to go by car.
You can take the E-7 (N-340) from Barcelona to Alicante, Granada, Malaga, Algeciras, Tarifa (Direction Cadiz). An amazing trip along the beuatiful mediteranean coastline of Spain.
The distance from Malaga to Tarifa is about 150 km. We recommend that you take the coast road, no toll and nice views. Or you can takethe A1 from San Sebastian to Victoria Gasteiz, Burgos, Salamanca, Sevilla, Cadiz, Tarifa.

Malaga - Algeciras
An alternatively easier way is to go by bus. First you need to take the bus from Malaga to Algeciras. The bus leaves from the ‘Estacion De Autobuses’ in Malaga city centre eight times a day. The price for a single ticket is around 17 euros per person. You can buy the tickets online or at the bus station.
Algeciras - Tarifa
From Algeciras to Tarifa and vice-versa there are buses leaving almost every hour. The price for a single ticket is around 2 euros per person. You can buy the tickets online or at the bus station.
Be careful! Always check the timetables as they are constantly changing!
There is a secured parking lot at the Tarifa port (ferry terminal) where you have to pay fee. There are some other secured parking lots but they are further away.
You can also park your car in the streets of Tarifa but it’s not secure. Especially during the summer months (July and August) it’s recommended not to leave any belongings in the car.
In these months it can also be very hard to find a parking space due to the busy period.
